Default 92-92 climate control Q

92-93 did not have the "outisde temp" feature. 94-96 do have that feature.

half the lights on my 93 climate control (ACC) don't work. was going to replace. I see many sellers indicate the ACC for 92-96 will work.

has anyone put the newer ACC into a 92 or 93 model? Does it work? what happens if you push the "outisde temp" button, does anything display for that?

I'm guessing the newer models have a temperature sender somewhere near the radiator to pickup the outside temp. You would need to look at the wiring harnesses and compare wiring diagrams to see if it would work.

We can rebuild your climate unit. We can also put in any color LEDs you may want. Green and blue are popular

It could be that the newer climate control will display the temp straight away. The whole feature of "outside temp" started from auto climate control units needing to know the outside temp to work well. Then some genius thought "why don't we show the driver that temp with a button" and there you go. The early model would have this info provided to the unit already, the display was added as a convenience feature. Not a guarantee, there could be some other changes from 93-94 there but worth a try.

yep, the '96 ACC unit works, and it does display the outside temp on my '93. It showed 45 earlier, and went do to 38 later tonight. so it's not like it shows the same temp just to show something.
