Default Driver window

The window lately stops when trying to put the windows up, summer time was fine, now the cold weather here does it all the time, when i get the window to go back up the motor seems like its struggling for power. Any info would help .

pull the door panel off and take a closer look. is the regulator track binding? would a shot of lubricant help?

over the years for me, on other vehicles, this always seems to end up requiring new motor & regulator. I've bought them cheap off ebay.

you can get complete assembly, or just motor. try a few search options on ebay. I saw this place will ship internationally :

http://www.ebay.com/itm/1993-94-95-9...12bfeb&vxp=mtr

ask them to ship USPS so you don't get stung with brokerage fees. Or, do you live close to border? you could get it shipped to a US receiver and cross the border yourself (quicker and cheaper...that's what I do... I live in BC).

some of the sellers won't ship to canada. costs the buyer more in brokerage fees, and item is delayed a long time at Customs. I think it has resulted in poor feedback when it is out of sellers control. But many will ship international....just make sure they ship US Post (USPS, NOT UPS). that will save you a lot on brokerage fees & shipping.

or cross border yourself to pick up. How close are you? there must be many businesses in your closest border town that charge $2-3 to give you an address and receive for you. We have many on the westcoast.

lots of options on ebay, from new to wrecker/used.

so you're going to fix the motor? I agree, 2.5 hours is too far. in that case I'd get it shipped USPS. you can also buy just motor for about $50, although bushings is probably cheaper, just a lot of work.

yeah, bummer about the hockey strike !!

Sorry the brushes, every electric motor has brushes and through time they will wear down, so they cost nothing, one whole dollar. i know es are common for window stoping, but i have good website to diy.

ahhh, that makes a lot more sense. I've replaced brushes on some cheap Princess Auto tools and it was easy. OTHER electric motors it was impossible to get the 2-3 brushes to stay spread open at the same time to slide the armature through.

what was this job like to do?

its not that hard at all, go to junkyard and pick the brushes from the back windows of an old es300, brushes will be newer couse they less used, let me know i have a good web site too, didnt even take window motor out of car plus u can clean the motor at same time, my driver side window works better then all my others now.
