93 es300 I need serious ECU help!!!!
So it starts like this... My neighbor was driving his 93 ES300 a few weeks ago and everything was fine. No problems it ran great. Parks it that day and that was that. Now we have no spark, no fuel, and no CEL. Now let me clarify that statement... No CEL means it won't come on at all. Not when you turn the key or try a diagnostic or for any reason. So I checked some things since I had a FSM handy. So far I have found the bulb in the cluster is good. The igniter and coil is good. I also swapped out a used ecu out of a Camry. Still nothing. Batt is good, starter is good. Life on the other hand sucks. Checked power and grounds at ecu and all good. The only thing that didn't check out so far was the terminals iscv1,2,3,4 which is idle air. Circuit was dead at the ecu.
So please... Anyone who has a clue what this might be... For the love of all things motorized!!!! Please help?

The first thing that I would consider would be a faulty security system/remote starter, if so equipped.

At this point I'm almost leaning towards two defective ecu's. maybe the other I tried was junk also. Almost has to be. And batt has been disconnected for a lot longer than 15 mins. Ignition switch might seem more likely. I will have to look into it soon.

Checked and rechecked... Slowly losing my mind. I did find some bad capacitors inside the ecu. Have relplaced most of them. Now I can't figure out where to find the tantalum caps I need to finish. However I'm still not sure this would fix the issue.

Well how lovely. After almost completely abandoning all hope and scrapping the pile of tin I finally found it!!! So I went through the factory manual about a dozen times to find nothing... So my brother comes by and starts spitting out anything that comes to mind and I go through the ecu again with him. Still nothing... Then I get a bright idea! What if the ecu and the power circuit are both just fine? What if something connected to the ecu is killing the power? So I have my brother sit in the car as I started pulling sensors and other connectors. All of a sudden he says STOP!!! And there it was... The Fu@k!ng Air flow meter. So I popped the plastic cap to find that a tiny little metal tab had broken and bridged two wires killing the entire ecu circuit.
Ha ha ha ha ha!!!! I win you stupid machine!!!
