Clean/Replace OCV?
hi. i have 90K miles on my 2000 es300. i just cleaned the IAC valve which took care of a starting problem.
but my gas milage is kind of low and the car is starting to consume about a quart every 1K miles so i thought i'd try cleaning/replacing the PCV valve which seems fairly straight forward.
but someone mentioned here that he also had to clean the OCV on his es300. so i am wondering if i should do the same but i can't figure out what problems i would see if the OCV needed replacing.
can someone clue me in?
also, if anyone can provide a link to a page where there are some instructions for replacing the OCV for the es300 (found one for the RX but seems different from the es parts) i'd appreciate it.
thanks, everybody!

i think it's the pcv valve. i am not the original owner but it was doing fine until about a year ago and it's accelerating consumption. it's had a change every 3K-5K miles (more frequent the first couple years) for the last 40K miles.
but what are some reasons i should clean/change the OCV? maybe i should do it about now anyway but i would like to understand.

OCV= oil control valve. It effects the timing of the motor and specifically how oil is feed into the VVTi. If its bad u will get CEL usually. Mine ran very ruff when they went bad.
I think your issue is something else with oil consumption.
PCV= positive crankcase ventilation. It could impact you having oil loss. Do you get any oil from the exhaust.
