Hello all,
I just replaced the alternator and the voltage seems to be a little low. It averages about 12.8 volts when idling.
Everything is hooked up right.. I'm getting the voltage reading from my radar detector, which is plugged into the cigaratte lighter port.
It reads 12.4 with the car off.
could a dirty connection cause this? Do I need to have a voltage reader right on the battery terminals? Any suggestions?
Its a Duralast alternator from autozone.. has lifetime warranty. I'm sure they'll give me a new one if need be, but cammon!! It was a ***** of a job!!
