I replaced my cluster. wow, can't believe all the things that light up!!

my climate control lights work.

suddenly, I've lost the radio illumination, and the shift selector illumination (not the shift selector on the dash: the floor one).

I checked several fuses under the hood, and on the driver's compartment below cluster. When i read manual, it only looks like 2-3 fuses meet description.

so what have I done? could the black plastic trim piece that covers cluster possibly affect this? There are 2 wiring plugs that go into it. I may have also swapped that trim piece from my parts car.
