Going all out: Complete List of Timing Belt Items
So my ES has 111K now, and it's really time for a timing belt replacement. While this major work is being done and the engine is apart, I am thinking of spending a little more and being proactive. Is there anything else that should be replaced?
Standard replacement parts are:
Timing Belt
Water Pump and Water Pump Gasket
Hydraulic Tensioner
Idler and Tensioner Roller
Crankshaft and Camshaft Seals
Now, here comes the "extras." Am I missing anything here?
Power Steering and AC Belts
Spark Plugs
Thermostat
Thanks

Spark Plugs and Thermostat are not accessible through the same work space, so it doesn't matter if you do them now or later. I wouldn't worry about the Thermostat, it rarely goes bad on Toyotas. Spark plugs, on the other hand, is a good precautionary maintenance at 111k miles.

In order to remove the camshaft seals, I think the valve covers have to come off. If the valve covers are coming off, you might as well replace the valve cover gaskets.
