Default Aftermarket Axle

Has anyone install new aftermarket axle product such as the duralast from autozone, or other types such as cardone a1 and surtrack? Are there any recommendation? Or do they all work the same?

I've come to the conclusion that more often than not, Cardone is junk. I installed one into a friends car about 6 months ago, the axle shaft is rusting horribly already, I mean severe rust! The thing was painted black as well. Must be the cheapest metal they could possibly use, makes me wonder about the rest of the unit. I've found FEQ and EMPI to be a decent aftermarket part.

edit... forgot to add that the first Cardone had no dust shield on it, had to exchange it for another one.

after market axle are CRAP, yes yes, my car is lowered and puts a lot of stress on the axles, but let me put it this way, before I met my friends shop, I payed almost double for after market axles and those boots ripped in less then 3 month MAX and no warranty on them, also my car vibrated A LOT after having them.

My friends place, rebuilds axles and those things last me at least 6 month, and I get 1 year warranty.

So in the end, if you can find a shop that rebuilds with oem axles go for it or just buy oem

I have Cardone new axles on my car. Probably have over 40k miles on them, much of which with the car supercharged. And I beat the **** out of my car and have drag raced it as well as had it on a 1/3 mile oval track.

Guess I;m just special that mine can take the abuse.........

Oh, and I got Reman Cardone axle for my friends 934whp Camry which gets abused like nothing anyone sees. months later, no issues.

I got it from Rock Auto. I can change it myself so I;m not too bothered if for some reason it needs to be replaced after a few years.

You can get a reman one for a slight bit more normally which is fine. Looking at the AutoZone ones, they have a lifetime warenty, so can;t really go wrong with that.

Thanks, the autozone was actually my choice, but i wanted to get some info on it before I go ahead and buy them! But if the reman had last you that long and do you more than regular driving, i don't see why not!

Whats funny is what people think about Reman parts though. For instance, the Automakers do not usually do thier own Reman parts as one would think. It's done by the same places that you see online (Cardone, Akebono, etc). Just an interesting little piece of info.

I think as far as the sky is the limit, so if option A doesnt work out, than option B will always be available!

I used Toyota Reman. The first out spewed out grease between metal parts (not the boots). The second one was better.
