^ you're not removing the heads, just valve covers, so no. Unless one of them snaps. Mine came right off effortlessly, actually a couple were barely holding on

a friend of i went to a new garage in montreal to do his timing belt on his 2005 bmw 750li. he asked for me how much it cost to do the valve cover gasket front and rear plus change all spark plugs... 288 + tax , we are far of the 700 from dealer and 500 from a other garage. !

Stop, the point of this thread was to show valve cover pictures and NOT discussing pricing... Have a question, make a new thread

Well I really need to do my front valve cover gasket on my 92, it's been leaking for years but now it's getting bad enough that the heater picks up the smell, and there is smog coming in through my vents when I'm at a stoplight with the heater on.... surprisingly the rear one doesn't leak at all. I'll do the 3 spark plug tube seals as well. I was just wondering, do I need to apply some silicone sealer when I install the new gasket? I was thinking it might help to put some near the corners and other places where it could start leaking. I'll be using OEM gasket and spark plug tube seals. Any thoughts on the sealant? I'll post pics on here when I do this Also, how do I need to clean the valve cover and the head where they come in contact with the gasket? Just remove the old gasket and scrape off any remains or is there something specific I should clan it with? Thanks.
