Default 1999 es300 engine rod knocking

I'm 21 years old and This is my second Lexus I was driving with low oil and unfortunatly one of my rods started knocking the car still moves but I was told I would have to replace the whole engine
Is this true I was also told fuel injection would fix it what should I do ?
If I do have to replace it how much would it be? I heard pick and pull would be cheap but I'm in this situation and I need help!!

Can you please clarify what the recommendation you received was (and who from - the same person?)?

1) replace the whole engine
2) fuel injection?

First off - did you add oil already? How long did you drive with it low? Did the engine overheat when you had the rod knocking problem? What's it doing now - just knocking or do you have a check engine light (CEL), smoke, etc?

I was recommended to replace the engine by a couple people one worked at rileys autoparts and another worked at tireshredpros the peson who said I need a fuel injection lives around my neighborhood

Yes I added oil after the fact but Its still knocking should I try to get it changed, I was driving with low oil for hella long at least a month tops, when I start my car I heard a loud knocking noise in the engine no smoke though. It still accelerates but I'm not comfortable driving it while its knocking check engine just came on when the problem started I don't think the engine overheated because there was no smoke

Should I try to put an excessive amount of oil

Do not overfill it. Just to the normal mark on your dipstick

How low was the oil (how many quarts did you put in once you figured out it was low)?

Is your check engine light on and if yes, have you had the code read?

If the knocking started with the oil low for an extended period it is most likely a rod, etc and not the fuel injection.

the oil was damn near bone dry and I was kinda rushing my dad to work on the freeway. I think thats why the problem started I put in about 4 quarts total after it happened

The check engine light did turn on but I haventt got the code read

If I do have replace the engine would it be cheap if I get the engine from a pick and pull and should I trust it.. How

much will I have to pay someone to put the engine in? Is there another way out of this ? My car still moves the rod

didn't pop or anything its just knocking. No smoke or anything when I start the engine does seem kind of hot tho..

I'm not sure how you managed to get 4 qts down, but since the oil capacity is only 5, you were effectively running without oil. If you have rod knock, that engine is toast, and no amount of fuel injection work is going to help. It's just a matter of time, and not much of that, before it goes.

Installing a pick and pull engine is going to be a crapshoot, it could be fine or it could be terminal too. I'd check with some reputable mechanics in your area for quotes on installing the engine or rebuilding the one you have and decide whether you'd be better off selling your current car as is and buying another. If you're particularly attached to yours and it's it otherwise good condition then it might be worth it, but it wouldn't be too hard to end up putting more into it than it will be worth when it's finished.

You can take a look at salvage yards near you or nationwide using www.car-part.com.

Be honest best you can do. Don't play with people's money.

Hard to say but probably not much because the engine will definitely have to be rebuilt or even replaced depending how severe the damage is. In my opinion I will say you're pretty much kind of screwed both ways. If you decide to keep it, you will spend a lot of money rebuilding it, unless you have mechanic hook-ups or something. The rebuild might exceed the value of the car. Also if you sell it, you can't get much for a non-running car.
