MY CAR IS A 1997 SO SAME GENERATION AS A 2000

Radio LCD usually goes out, power steering will sometimes have issues. I bought my car with 228k miles, and it drove really nice so I bought it. It now has 243k miles and these are the problems I've had.

-need new rack and pinion when i bought it $600
-needed new tires $300
-radio lcd blacked out $100 (bought a whole new unit as the lcd is $90)
-keyless entry stopped working (not fixed yet)
-Steering wheel leather was really messed up (replaced with 01 wood wheel for $100)

thats it, just gas and oil. The car is very reliable I have put about 15,000 miles on it in a year and I have had no check engine lights, always starts and drives smooth, takes me anywhere with about 25 mpg average (I drive lots of highway).

BASICALLY GET A PRE PURCHASE INSPECTION AT A GOOD MECHANIC LIKE ANY OTHER CAR DUHHHH NOW GET OUT

Very rough ideas; https://www.clublexus.com/forums/es3...en-thread.html

Keep in mind we're in different regions.

Off the top of my head, timing belt service, make sure it was done. Oil changes are crucial, make sure they were followed. In particular with regular service, check the trans. fluid. Valve cover gaskets are common as well as the infamous 'rear suspension creak'.

Cheers
