It isn't the coils or the plugs. They are new and even pass the switch test

Well that leaves you with bad connectors or a bad igniter. I'd try the connectors first. Here's a video on how to change them I'd bet they're cheap to pick up from Toyota.


I'd change those connectors, yea it's work but still. Maybe you could get at them without pulling the Plenum.

final result, and after a week in the shop. Cylinder 6 fuel injector was dead. Found this out after replacing the igniter and that wasn't the problem either. Mechanic seafoamed for the other 2 injectors.

So if you have this code, and it isn't the coil, it isnt the plug, and still aint fixed. Look at the injector.

I don't know what to say but even after 7 years since you posted this , now 2020 and it helped me a lot , this was useful , I have a 98 gs300 and today the p0306 misfire Cylinder 6 and I was about to get a new set of plug and coils but when I read your post I will try the fuel injector
