Default P0306 Cylinder 6 Misfire HELPPPP!!!

I replaced both the coil pack and spark plug in the 6th cylinder. It was working for a little bit, and then went right back to misfireing. Even after replaced, I pulled the code and it says the same thing. I'm wondering if the wire from the igniter is shorted somewhere. Cy 6 is the only one misfiring. Please help..

Check the coil connector #6. Better yet, replace all of them with new ones (part number: 90980-11246). A faulty connector may well trigger the P1300 code (random misfire). See

I checked and even bought a brand new one. Could the connectors really be causing this much of a problem? I checked the voltage thinking it was the original wiring, but the AC current is alternating with the key in the on position. It seems that the connectors are making a good connection, but IDK. P1300 code is for the igniter, and that started only after some troubleshooting.

I have even switched the coils from the 6th cylinder to the 4th. And it still says P0306 (which is the 6th misfire). Leads me to believe possibly it is the connector.

I will try =/ I just gave up earlier. This will be my last resort before I get it towed to the mechanic in the morning.

Towed it to the mechanic today. Did a compression test on the engine with hopes of finding something in the engine that is blocking it. It is turning into an electrical problem. About to just give the car up and get a new 1. Its not worth putting in unknown money on such a old vehicle.

Have you tested for spark?

At this point. IDK. The ignitor coil is def working because cy 4 is not being misfired and is running fine. Something is going on that is not working with the 6th. I tested the voltage coming from the igniter and it is fine. AC of 12 v with car on on position.

Yes. Also, a bad ignition coil connector can trigger the P1300 code. There are a few codes that make the ECM to enter fail-safe and P1300 is one of them. F-S operation for P1300 is fuel cut. I had this condition on my '94 Camry V6 a few years ago when out of the blue while making a turn the engine just died.

Well If it was actually the connector, wouldn't the 4 cylinder be misfiring as well since they are on the same coil pack? My engine never cut off..... yet

My 94 Camry has 6 ignition coils, i.e. one coil per plug. The 95 ES in the video above also has 6. My 98 ES has 3. As for your 96 I don't really know.

After my mechanic ran a diagnostic on it , it's pointing to the igniter. A 150$ part, not including labor. Mechanic said this should fix it. I'm frustrated. Because if not I'm pissed and out of a lot of money. Can someone please chime in and help give insight......

Well I have the 3 coil es300 but I know it will throw an igniter code if I unplug one of the coils connectors, this could be relevant in the fact that a bad coil/unhooked coil causes the car to throw a igniter code or it couldn't matter at all. I would move all coils from the front to the back and see if the issue(s) changes. Bad plugs, coils, or connectors could cause this...outside of a bad igniter.
