If you lived closer, I'd hog ring them for you, or hook you up with the gun. FYI, the air-powered hog ring guns we use at my work run about $400. At that price, you'd be better off paying an upholstery shop but you might be able to find a cheaper gun that would be sufficient for your limited use.
You're inspiring me here, I've been thinking about looking for an auto-dimming mirror for a little while now. I think I'll be looking for a cheaper route, but let us know how the install went and put up pics when you're done.

Thanks for the offer Kyle, too bad MN is a long way from Cleveland, especially in the snow
The seat cushion uses a combination of hog rings (in the back and these little metal clips (on the other 3 sides). It seems tough to pull the cushion cover taut enough to crimp the clips on; I'm not sure why Lexus didn't use traditonal hog rings there. The seat back seems to be all hog rings.
I found a local upholstery shop that does a lot of work on classic cars and street rods, and I was able to work out a deal with the owner to install the front covers. I'm going to pull the covers off the Coach seats myself, and bring them in to the shop Monday morning, and they will install them for $238. Much better than the $410 the Lexus dealer wanted, and I'd rather have people that restore the upholstery on show cars do it, than people who are excellent at working on complex engines, but probably don't do too much upholstery work. In fact, I was surprised that the Lexus techs even do that work, I had always assumed they outsourced it, or had an upholstery repair service come in.
Mirror's due in at the Nissan dealer mid-week (not sure if the New Year's holiday will slow things down). My next decision is whether to call back the one glass shop willing to heat off the old mirror at my own risk, or to use a torch and try it myself. The 1st gens, as you probably know, have that unique square mount, instead of a standard mirror mount that the mirrors slides on. And the glue is amazingly strong. If you're interested in the project after seeing how mine turns out, Luc posted a link for a good deal (around $125) on the Gentex mirror with compass (the Camry/Solara kit). I remember it being even cheaper than the Ford price for the mirror with compass ($149)
I decided that I really liked the look of the 350Z mirror, and I've always wanted a HomeLink transceiver, so I spent a little bit more. I'll start a thread on the mirror project once it arrives.
