Question Stereo dead as a doorknob

Hey All,
My 2ES (Tape Only) stereo system went completely dark today. Went from working great to having no backlights or anything.

I plan on taking it out tomorrow and looking for wires that have broken but have 0 experience doing this.

Anyone seen this issue before? Any tips for taking it out?

check fuses, under hood and under dash. Ours just went out one day and I had to buy one off of ebay.

Hey Club,
Figured I would update you all on this because the ending was very odd.

While sitting in the car while it was off I heard an odd clicking. It was the Monster Tape Adapter in the stereo (the dead one). It was ever so slightly spinning. The problem was that the unit was dead so it wouldn't eject. We are talking no backlight, nothing. Completely dead.
Naturally, I started to tug on the cord of the Tape Adapter until all of the sudden the tape slowly spits out and BAM! The entire thing lights back up light a Christmas tree.

What in the world malfunctioned to cause this I will never know, but apparently something about that Tape Adapter caused the unit to get crossed up.

A happy ending I guess.
