Default paint chips and leather care

I just got a 99 lexus es300 from my dad. The car only has 90,000 miles on it so I plan on driving it for a while. I just have a few questions on taking care of it. The car is in great condition except for a few chips on the hood probably from rocks. The chips look like they have rusted though. Any suggestions on what to do? also any advice on how often to clean and condition the leather seats? ive seen cars with cracked leather and i dont want that to happen to my car.
Thanks!

Meguiar's has leather care wipes that you can use to clean and condition the leather periodically. Rx hotline 1-800-347-5700

You can put seat covers on the seats to protect leather from wear and tear. As far as paint chips, hood will have to be repainted, no easier way around it

Meguiars is great for leather.

Color Paint Chip Repair kits that you see advertised on Velocity work fantastic by the way.

The wipes are great in a pinch, but I would recommend getting a good quality cleaner and conditioner that you would apply every few months. In order to truly protect the leather, you need to be able to lift and remove dirt from its pores, and then close them up with a layer of sealant. A single wipe cannot do that. I use Lexol - they seem to be highly regarded in the leather care community.

You can read about it more on Autogeek dot net

I'm surprised no one has said to use leatherique yet... It is far more intensive than a standard conditioner, but very much worth it. There are other's that don't require the down time... I don't recall the name however.

Leatherique and Connelly's hide food are both great but typically for leather that has been neglected. For leather that is in good condition and relatively clean I think Lexal does a wonderful job.
