for one... that kit is an add-on kit... not a front lip. and there was a thread pertaining to the '00-'01 tails on a '97-'99... i think someone said that the bolting behind the tail light casing was different so either you could drill your own holes... or whatever you feel. that's all i remember on that topic.

yeah man...you know what really pisses me off? there's nothing we (97-99) can do about our ugly amber part of the tails...the whole plastic part is all amber plastic so it isnt as easy as ripping apart lining...oh well...i dont know if the 00-01 are gonna look good b/c they have ES300 on them too...which makes them just look azzugly...but i think the es300 on the trunklid and the es300 on the actual tail is gonna look pretty bad...i think....

Smile The emblem on the trunk can be removed

Yeah, having the ES300 badge in two places does look goofy. But the one on the trunklid can be removed with some heat and dental floss, people "debadge" all the time. That's the one I would remove, I'd leave the one on the taillight so it looks like a regular 00-01.

your right Frank White, they could have atleast put the correct tail lights on the car. that just makes the car look older

Tell us more!!!!! I'm trying to find a sure-fire way to debadge the "es300" emblem but the conventional methods I can think of may not work.

Any ideas?

There's been a few threads on debadging, the best ones to search for are actually in the SC430 forum (try the GS forum, too). The guys over there who did it knew what they were doing, and and didn't want to risk damaging the finish on such a gorgeous car.

Being patient with a heat gun on low and strong dental floss is the safest way to debadge. I'm not sure if the ES_300 badge on the 95-96 trunklid has pegs underneath or is just glued on. I paid the dealer to put my chrome ones on this fall, didn't have the time to do it myself. They did a perfect job on the 3 rear emblems, but scratched my hood a little removing the front L (it appears they resorted to some prying)
