'98 ES 300 Owner
Hello all,
I am the proud owner of a 1998 ES 300, antique sage pearl with Ivory/Sage interior. It's pretty much stock all the way through and I'm currently in the process of restoring her. I'm having the exterior completely restored and I'm working on the interior. I'm looking forward to the gaining as much knowledge about this process from you guys possible.

Had my 2005 Lexus ES330 for about 2 years now. Did some minor installments, but I LOVE my car. Enjoy the pic of the rims because they will off of my car by next week.

Switched from Volvo
Just purchased my first Lexus, a 2003 ES300 after many happy years of Volvo ownership. My Lexus is perfect at 106,000 miles and I don't plan to change or modify anything. Had to upgrade to V speed rated tires, original spec, changed the timing belt and water pump, serviced the tranny, and will soon do first oil change with 5W30 synthetic and a premium filter. The Lexus is smooth, quiet, and more powerful than my Volvos which in comparison were a bit clunky.
As an old Volvo owner I am a maintenance fanatic. On the topic of oil viscosity, I used 10W40 or 20W50 for years thinking it was better for my car, My last Volvo started ticking with sticky lifters at only 150,000 miles. I switched back to specified 5W30 and the problem went away for 100,000 miles. Seems modern engines are made to such exacting tolerances that higher than specified viscosity oil won'y go everywhere it has to.
Anyway, I enjoy the forum and I love my Lexus.

1995 es300
Hey guys,
been a member for a short while. Just haven't had time to introduce myself. Name is Damo and I have a 95 ES300 (not on the road yet) Interior is from an earlier model as I still have the rest of the wrecked model to strip before sending the body away for scrap metal
I'm from QLD, Australia.
I will hop around to getting some of the other pictures and progress together and start a thread if need be.

Hi all need some help and advice on how to fyi. I own a 96 lexus es300 159k
To keep it short my battery light and abs light came on the next day after taking it in to pep boys just for them to check on the basic maintaince of the car such as brakes and tires. So I checked my battery and everywhere I went to get it tested came out good. I went ahead and put a new alternator anyway. It fixed the abs problem temporarily but the battery light still kept coming on and off. And now the abs light is back on. How do I fix this problem? Did pep boys touch my fuses? Maybe I should get a new battery? Need some expert advice here please help. Thank you all!

Hello all. I just bought a bone stock one owner 97' ES300 with 136K miles. I have been driving a 98 V6 Camry for 10 years and have racked up 264K miles. BTW, I'm keeping the Camry. These cars drive very different. I have wanted a Lexus ever once I realized how fantastic the Camry is. I am really enjoying the ride, overall comfort and stereo(factory) of the ES300.
I hope you guys are not disappointed that I plan to keep my ES300 stock.

Hey yourself Deano.
Everyday I drive this car I wonder why they are so popular. For some it is the obvious first car-first love thing. I had a '79 Mazda RX-7 as my first car. It was a lot of fun, I kept it running, painted out the rust spots, and made it look decent. I don't miss it but it drove and handled better than the ES 330.
I'm finding my car (ES 330) is draining my passion for driving. The auto transmission is like a government program that works under certain conditions. The steering is part of a thousand step process to change direction. Don't get me wrong, the car is mechanically sound. Nothing is broken or worn but if this is standard Lexus fair, I need to find something else as soon as I can afford to move on.
I'm not here to pick a fight or forum troll into an argument. We all have our opinions and that makes taking about cars fun and sometimes challenging. I just don't find the Toyota/Lexus products that compelling to own, drive, and enjoy. They are bland, basic oatmeal, point A to point B transportation.
How's the Volvo?

2000 ex300
Hey, I'm new here also. Just purchased a new to me 2000 ES300. I'm VERY excited. It's my second ES300. I used to own a 1997 and absolutely LOVED it. The new car has an issue with the speedometer not registering past 55mph and also the mileage display not showing up. Some of the numbers are partially lit up, but none of them can actually be read. I'm looking for help figuring out a fix for this... I haven't tried anything just yet, but I'm looking for suggestions. The guy I bought it from suggested purchasing a new cluster, but I want to try out other options first if there are any. Does anyone have any suggestions?
