Hello All,
I just purchased my first Lexus. It's an '02 ES 300 with only 83K. Seems to be in excellent condition, but it's a little dirty so when I get it cleaned up, I'll post some pictures if I can figure out how to do it. I've never done online forums before, so I'm sure I'll have a lot of questions. Some may even be semi-intelligent hopefully. I've been an aerospace mechanic (long retired) and gearhead all my life but this computer forum stuff confuses me. Hopefully you all can help me with that.

Since I usually keep a car until there nothing left, I'm hoping to preserve this one for a long time. Looking forward to gaining a lot of knowledge here. My last car was an Avalon pushing 300K. It was a total out (hail damage) that I bought back for $250.00 and pretty rough so it was time to retire it. Guess that's about all for now.

Default My Lexus ES300 coach edition

This is my new 1999 Lexus es300 coach edition. Bought it at 120,000 miles on it. Everything is good on it so far. Got the oil changed today but I got a check engine light, trac off, and ABS comes on when driving. Please let me know what this might be. I’m going to the dealership tomorrow to get it diagnosed.

The interior is also nice. I’ll add pics soon.

Do no let stealership fix your vehicle! Most check engine light issues are easy to fix. Get the code FREE from your local auto parts store like Autozone or O'reilly(?) and google code. Always starts with a "P". Great find on your vehicle!

yea lol. They wanted to fix the hood struts for $654 dollars! I knew they were a joke at that point. I already did my breaks and my alignment. Also I ordered a remote for the car but my unlock and lock feature is broken. How can I fix?

I think you have to program your remote to your car system. Youtube it and it shows how it's done.

Default New to me 01 ES300

I have just joined because I've gotten my nice 01 ES300. It's got the 16 inch wheel option but I don't know what else. Got summer tires and put them on some Kia 5 spokes. Need the brake rotors done as 1 is warped. Doing all 4 and a fluid flush that's badly needed.

What kind of problems? Check engine light on? If so, get codes free from auto store near you.

Have a CEL,it's a bank 2 sensor 1 O2. Have a few code readers. Other than the rotors it's mostly maintenance stuff.

Hello, I'm Elijah. I would like to introduce you all to Lizzie my 1998 Lexus ES300 (Cashmere Beige EXT/Sage INT) She is my very first car. I bought her back in November 2020 with 123,945 miles clean, no accidents, and one owner who I presume was an older lady since she has since 98 according to both the carfax and an invoice slip that I found in the owner's manual for one of the very first services done on the car. Since November 2020 I've driven over 17k miles and have replaced the front and rear brakes (rotors & pads), struts, swaybars, bushings. also the front lower controll arms and the dog bone engine mount. I have not had any issues with the car and I get car serviced every 5k miles. Is there any pointers you all could give me? As this is my first car and I am trying to get as many miles out of it as I can. Thank you!
