Default Need Opinion on Timing Belt Kit

I'm thinking about changing the timing belt on my 02 ES300. It now has 193K. I found some kit on ebay for around $175 and it includes everything I need to do the job. Do you guys recommend some other type of kit or is that good enough? Thanks

That's exactly it. Doing the 'quick search' at the top of the forum using 'timing belt' pulls up 10+ pages of threads with those words, in the first five pages there is tens of threads touching on the very questions posted for all models.

Here's one posted last year regarding the 4ES which you yourself had asked about a little while ago, and someone even pulled it up FYI.

If you're buying a timing belt kit, make sure that it has OEM components. Look for name brands such as Koyo(pulleys), Mitsuboshi(belts), and Aisin(water pump). I remember somebody bought a kit off of eBay with those brand names, and the only bad components were the oil seals. Those you can get just as cheaply from the dealer.

I suggest buying from aircabinman or metero1969. Both sell timing belt kits with OEM parts on ebay.

I hope you're not taking me as being sarcastic. I had no intention to be. If so, sorry about that.

I understand they're a lot of timing belt threads, but i meant more as in 'timing belt kit' threads, like brand and quality, deals etc etc

Thumbs up

I end up ordering my parts from RockAuto. Not sure what the pulleys are but the WP is OEM. Both AC belt and Serp belt are Gates. I heard Gates make pretty good belts too so that's what I get. All for $220 shipped.
