Starting problems for 1997 ES 300
Sometimes my 1997 ES 300 does not start. Sometimes if I pump the brake or pull up on the brake pedal, then it will start. When it does not start, when I turn the key nothing happens. All the lights and dashboard light up but the starter does not engage. I am wondering if there is a safety switch on the brake pedal.

When the car does not start check to see if the brake lights are working, that will tell you if the switch is bad or not.
