anyone installed seat heaters
I was thinking about installing seat heaters in my 93es. I was wondering if anyone has put seat heaters in their car that were'nt installed at the factory. Do I need to pull the leather off the seats? Are there aftermarket heaters available? Just wondering.

Yes, you will need to pull the leather off your seats. There are aftermarket seat heaters available, and the factory seats have a power connection for heaters. My '96 has heated seats, and the heaters have a Y-shaped harness that plugs into a power connection on the bottom of the seat, and one wire leads to the backrest heater and the other to the cushion heater.
I just bought a set of Coach Edition seats that aren't heated, and they have the extra socket for the heaters, just no Y-cable plugged into it. I'm taking the Coach covers off this weekend, and paying an upholstery shop to put them on my heated factory seats Monday morning.
I know Katzkin sells aftermarket seat heater kits. Not sure if they can be wired into the factory power connection for the heated seats, and I'm not sure how you can add switches to the circuit for seat heaters. They also run off their own fuse, which I'm not sure if it's installed in cars without heated seats (it's in the fuse panel underneath the outside mirror/keyless entry volume controls).
