Mine is between those two. The unfinished areas on the camshafts and head are a very dark brown, the rest is darker than yours still. There are a couple of very small pockets of sludge in the rear head, none in the front head. Runs better now then it ever has so we'll see.

Running nice now, I don't know how some of those plugs were even working. I replaced the plugs and it had one dead coil as well. While I was there I went ahead and replaced the valve cover gaskets. Was not pleased to find a lot of varnish and a dark brown color... this engine is sludged up. But it's running like a top at the moment.
