Good day everyone, so happened that i adopted an ES300 from a relative, at first didn't know wtf to do with it, but fell in love with it later on. Here are some pics of the progrees i've made so far. Looking to get some good quality front bumper with a lip, as mine is cracked and there is no point to fix it. Your honest opinion and feedback is most welcome. It is not going to be a purist version of the era, I'm trying to build it in a style of my own...

Installed some new KYB shocks and Eibach 1.4" lowering springs (Don't mind the IS rims)

Rust, dents and stone chips removed

Headlights were polished and tinted, you can see the difference between the two.

Found more rust of course

Wrapped in a 3M Satin Grey Metallic

Experimenting with the wheels... not too excited

This was a bit much at the beginning..

But I got used to it. Might switch back to 17's

My black '98 es300's paint has oxidized evenly enough to look like a flat finish at times and I've thought about doing something like you have to make it official. Really like your paint. Too much for me with that last set of rims :-).

Car looks good only thing to remember is that even though bigger wheels look allot better they put allot more strain on the drivetrain and on the suspension components.

I’m not being a hater at all but just saying putting all of that added stress on 20 year old parts that are probably starting to get tired anyway usually leads to bad stuff happening.

Just curious how are things going with both your Lexus. Any issues or upgrades? Beautiful cars.

Default Removing Scratches

Any advice on removing scratches? I was not sure of how hard the Lexus paint was so I have not ventured pass a medium pad with Meguiar’s Ultimate Compound. I have gotten light scratches out but I did not want to push my luck and do paint damage. Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.

Just picked up this 2001 two days ago out of necessity and a good price. Although it's got a heavy oil leak and some suspension clunks, looks like it won't cost me any more than the old Acuras I've had to fix. Really happy with the car though. Didn't even know these old models got HID headlights so that was a pleasant surprise! It presents well in photos, but the bumpers are really scratched up and the front right is torn above the fog light so needs a new front bumper. And does anyone know what color this is? I was thinking Sage Metallic? But it shifts colors based on the lighting... Figured out after some sunlight and searching it's Mineral Green.
