Fuel door won't open

Angry Fuel door won't open

When I Push the fuel door button, the fuel door is not opening .....I have to open the trunk and pull the string handle emergency string to get it to open.....is it the fuel door spring I need to replace?

I'd check the fuses first. They can be found under the hood on the right side and others behind the coin compartment. Diagram for fuses can be found in the manual as well as these areas.

when I manually open the fuel door via the trunk and depress the button, I see the lever piece going in like it is supposed to....yet the door when closed will not open on its on when the button is depressed......

Check the little spring at the hinge, it's supposed to "pop" the door open when the latch releases. I had mine break off on my last ES. Rather tense moment in the gas station...

It's available as a separate part.
