ooo...i can share the feelings...the friggin *#$&%! attached the emblems w/ some...i dunno raised adhesive...and the emblem is slightly chipped...i suspected some wrong doing..but didnt say anything cuz i was too much of noobie back then....but ARGH..everyday i pass the hood emblem i just stare at it and get pissed. knowing them they just took off old emblem *badly* and attached it to hood. and when i was messin around w/ my fogs i noticed that they had barely painted the bumper...i mean i could see visibly from outside where they had stopped spraying...and it looks pretty bad....its ok when you just glance at it...but examine it a little more and BAM! oh well...still love my baby...

Letting your foot off the gas everytime the autoamtic transmission shifts isn't good for it either.

the tranny as you know is probably on its last lap.

The residual problems from the body shop is a concern. It won't sell for what you paid the body shop if it is as bad as you describe. In MA there is a law that protects the consumer from half assed body shops. The law states that the consumer is entitled to having the automobile returned to the condition it was before the accident. When a body shop estimates damage and agree to do the work they are making a contract. Mutaul agreement, service reciprocated for specified amount of money.
CA must have a similar law on the books. It sounds like the body shop did not live up to its end of the bargin. Take them to court. Then sell the car. You might want to investigate the possibility of forcing (legally) the body shop to buy the car from you for the value of the car before the accident. You have paid them $5k already and the car is not acceptable. Inquire at law schools in your area. This type of legal work alot of times can be done by third or fourth year law student and it doesn't cost you anything.

Look into it.
