Hi all,
I have a 2002 ES300 with 20000 miles on it. The passenger side of my car is making those annoying dee-dee-dee.... noise when I am driving on a rough or bumpy road, or when I play music with heavy bass. It's some kinds of vibration.
i know for sure the door is part of it because when i play music with bass, and i put my hand on the door, the noise stops. I can really feel the vibration on the door. I just don't know if there are anywhere else make those noise.
Anyone know or have experience with this problem?

Jobindj,
Are you planing to fix it? The noise is getting worst and more sensitive. It is very annoying. It didn't have this noise before, so I think there must be a way to fix it.

Thanks for all the replies.
Even I don't have the music on, the noise is still there, specially when the road is kinda rough and bumpy. It is so noticible and consistent that my gf who seat next to me can hear it, but she can't tell where it comes from.
I tried to look for any possible loose parts but can't find anything.
What can be loosed? Door, seat, seat belt, mirror... I just feel like the car is going to falling apart soon. It's just not as "tight" as before. I really don't expect that from a Lexus.

It was the dee-dee-dee that through me. I thought you were describing a chime like noise.
My car does have a sound, especially when it is really cold and I just get in. It sounds like the doors are rubbing. It seems to go away after the car interior warms up. It is not hitting metal to metal, but more like someone is actually holding the outside and moving them slightly.
About a month back or less, there was a gentleman that mentioned a rear door noise like the one you state. It was in a thread about likes and dislikes of the 02/03 ES300. He stated that he had the mechanic fix the annoying noise. When asked what was done to fix it, he said the mechanic removed the styrofoam like insulation that is in the doors. The mechanic said "that noise is gone forever". You could search back to find the thread.
I would take the door panels off myself, but the car is so new and my noise goes away after a while (or I just get used to it), so I think I will wait until I really have to go inside the door.
Unitl then I avaoid the bumps and turn the radio up.

Your car have the same problem?
I am going to bring my car to the dealer today. Hopefully they can fix it. But I really really doubt it. I am aftaid that they can't reproduce it.

My annoyance with the '02 ES is a ticking noise that sounds like it's coming from the headlight stalk (that general area, can't really pinpoint it).
One of the downsides of having such a quiet cabin is that little noises here and there become much more annoying.
Isn't that the new sound-absorbing material Lexus is using? I wonder if the rattle is gone, but more of the outside noise is getting in.
