I just bought my 03 es300 about a month and a half ago and the right rear window
decided not to work anymore. does anyone know if it is the master switch or the one in the door?
I don't want to have to take a door off if i'm just guessing. i had a 93 which i took the doors off a number of times and it wasn't hard. is it hard on this car? i don't want to ruin the integrity of the interior. the switch in the rear window makes a clicking sound when i try to lower it
from the master switch. it doesn't make a noise from the switch itself on the rear window. its a job i can do myself. theres no way i'm paying a dealer to do this. any help would be awesome. thanks!

I just bought my 2003 about a month ago and it had the same problem with the back windows.
A lot has been posted on this forum concerning the same issue. It appears that the windows get stuck in the "up" position. From what I understand, the window regulator over extends in the "up" position and gets stuck. The solution that works for most is to hold down the window button and slam the door a couple of times. This seems to unjam the regulator. But this solution didn't work for me. I had to remove the inner door panel and loosen the 4 bolts that hold the motor/regulator to the door frame. I think this allowed the motor/regulator unit to drop down a millimeter or so. I then put the inner door panel back on and did what I mentioned above which is to hold down the window switch and slam the door. This fix it. It unjamed the window. I hope this helps.
I think there is a service bulletin on this. It actually talks about inserting a rubber strip at the top of the window track which wil prevent the window from extending to to far in the "up" positon. It stops the window just short of it full extension.

hi turtle54. Getting the door panel off was very easy. I think it was just two screws.
You just undo the two scres that are hidden under the black cap that is behind the chrome door handle.
Then pull the panel off starting at the bottom and working up to undo the plastic clips.
Try these directions that I used. I thought I also saws a set of directions with pictures. I 'll check to see if I see have that link.

Hey guys,
Get in the back seat with the car running.
Open the door, Hold down the window open switch
Slam the door shut while doing so. (Like really slam it)
Window will start working again.

I've tried, husband tried and he took to dealer this morning and he tried slamming door and this method didn't work. He told us to bring back later to try something else. Even tried loosening seal by sliding a credit card between rubber part and still nothing!

Actually, my 2002 has had the same issue on the passenger back door since I bought it. I'm going to try the holding down of the button while slamming the door while the car is running, but only if my car starts! It seems the starter went out last night and me and my kids were stranded until 4:30 this morning waiting on a tow truck!
