Exclamation Got New Throttle Hoses For My 2000 ES300 VVT-i

Ok I have been searching everywhere for these two hoses on my ES300. Nobody carried them but the STEALERSHIP :/ luckily my work supplies food to Newport Lexus and i got a good deal on the set. So i bought my ES300 with 71k from a senior which never changed these hoses in 13 years and wow did the new ones help a lot. I also did the spark plugs too while i was under the hood. I have to say my Lexus drives awesome. So originally these hoses cost $100 plus tax but i bought both for just around $50.

Originals (13 yrs)

Brand New

Nice! I've been meaning to change mine for a whole now, but can't seem to find them near me. I was thinking of just getting silicone turbo piping instead

You made it sound like the hoses are a maintenance item. Unless they're ripped, I don't see why you should change them. I still have the original intake hoses and both of them are fine.

They can get very hard and brittle. I was doing some work on my cousins 99 ES and i was trying to get the silly resonator box back into place and i tore one in half. Compared to the ones on my avalon mine were soft and squishy and his were hard as a rock.

What size in diameter are the hoses and how long are they because I would just get turbo hoses that would work and be cheaper?

Yes they get very hard and crack easy. They are 2" in diameter and about 4" long, they snug pretty good around the throttle so you might want them a tiny bit bigger if you go after market to fit around it. I am just glad i switch them out since i did not want anything going wrong with my mint ES. You can only order though Lexus though for OEM

The part you linked appears to be for the 97-98 ES300 and 97-01 Camry. The 99-01 ES300 VVTi motor has different intake hoses, two small ones on the TB side vs single larger hose. Dormans website that shows this compatible with the 99 ES300 is wrong.
