P0330 After changing air filter?
Hi All,
Although this is my first post i have used this site many times for the resourceful insight many of the members have and would like to thank everyone for their contributions.
I am the original owner of a 2000 Es 300 with 208k miles... It runs GREAT .. After all the common repairs that is
Anyways i changed my air filter on sunday to a new fram filter. The one in the car was the same exact one. About 10 miles after leaving the shop i get the dreaded CEL and Trac OFF! Car wont shift from 3rd to 4th.
Unplugged battery and let car rest and code comes back on after 10 miles again.
I took the car to my mechanic and he showed me the P0330 code. I am unfortunately done with paying big $$ to fix this car.. I left the shop and and when i got home i had a message from the mechanic saying i should check if i knocked a sensor or harness or tube in or under the air filter box that would send this code to the ecu? I checked everything and it all looks good... Im stumped about what my mechanic was talking about and i searched the whole site and cant find anyone with a similar problem.. Ive changed the filter MANY times and enver had a problem.. HELP!!
Any advice? Tips? Anything? Pictures?
Thank you!!

You also have to consider the fact that it could be a coincidence that the code came up after your filter change.
It could be a legitimate failed knock sensor,

Does anyone know where I can locate the wiring n for the knock sensor once I take off the glove compartment and expose everything where is the wires?

The KS harness plug is under the Throttle body and it gets brittle with age. It is possible to jostle it while changing an air filter and it could have broken the harness. However the code would have came up as soon as you began to accelerate and not 10 miles later, So locate the harness plug and give it a jiggle then clear the code and see what happens. I bet it comes back sooner than 10 miles. If it does then the next step is to remove the plenum, the Intake manifold and then the bypass hose just to get to the knock sensors and harness plugs.
Sorry for the bad news but I have been there before.
