Default Hit 200k club! - sharing experience

I am the original owner, which I purchased in 2000. Always garage kept and dealer (Lex / Toy) maintained.

I reached 200k mark in March (misplaced the odometer picture somewhere) and now touched 210k (drive lots of highway miles for work). Major repair was to replace knock sensor two years back. Besides that, regular maintenance. I started using Mobile full syn high mileage oil at 90k miles (until then regular dyno oil). Also, I do transmission flush at around 30-45k interval.

So far it has been a very reliable car and drives like a new car .

Very nice its rare to see the original owner of a car on these forums, especially with that many miles. Car looks great, ours is at 230k and we are the original owners as well

That is awesome! Kudos for keeping your car for so long, it's a rare thing, as gray_es300 pointed out. Are you still on your original suspension?

Congrats. Nice color scheme and the car is in great shape.

I am switching to the M1 hi miles oil next change. My ES330 has 130K on the clock.

Good luck!

Thanks for those nice comments. Happy to see other original owners on this forum.

Yes, its still on original suspension ( This is Platinum series comes with some type of electronics suspension).

So far I have done following;
Maintenance:
Replaced hoses
Water pump and timing belt
Spark plugs
Brake and tire related work
PCV valve
Fluids

Repair:
Replaced oxygen sensors at around 110k
Knock sensor two years back
Oil control valve 6 months back

Everything else is in original. So far no leaks noticed.

Congrats on hitting 210K!
Your car is such a beauty.
It shows that you've taken really good care of it. I wish I was the original owner for mine...

Toyota/Lexus should put these repairs on the maintenance schedule.

wow that ES looks no way near 200K mark. Am impressed with the maintenance you have done. Plus all body, interior seats also look like hardly used. i see that you also clean the engine bay.
Am thinking of switching to synthetic too or start with blend and end with full syn. Just wondering what coolant fluid did you go with
And what's with the locations. Your ID says from Texas but the license plate from New Jersey..

I use the Lexus coolant myself. I don't like to take chances on the fluids.

Came back from long week end....

I use Lex/Toy coolant (I guess pink coolant). I don't mess with any fluids. In fact I had replaced all fluids (including differential oil) atleast once.

Recently moved from TX to NJ and forgot to update the profile - good catch imherenow!.

Some PMs were received asking about full synthetic oil and whether I had any leaks prior to start using full syn. I didn't have any leaks before switching to full syn. The reason I tried M1 high mileage was about the additives that would condition and prevent leaks (atleast that's what they claim, also read some good reviews / feedbacks on 'bob is the oil guy forum' (http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/ ). I buy them at Walmart.

Infact I asked Toyota advisor about switching to full syn before doing so. He advised against it mentioning common concerns one would find in forums - can lead to leaks by exposing already open pores as dyno is thinner than full syn (?). But I went with M1 high mileage and never turned back. I also switched to M1 when my other vehicle (GX) hit 80k.

PFB - good eyes. That 'drive bulb' bothers me. Is it a quick fix such as replacing a buld (LED)?. Has anyone fixed such thing?.

I will try to answer on keeping clean exterior, interior and engine bay.

Since 1999 I started using Zaino products for car polishing / waxing needs. In between I tried Zymol and other waxes / polishes. I tend to believe Zaino last longer on the paint. It's had to get reflective shine on white color but Zaino 6 & 10 give me a nice wet look. Hard to capture on camera. I apply Zaino 6 & 10 to headlights and brake lights. They look shiny too!.

For interior, I started with Lexus leather product. Tried various products and finally settled with Leatherique and Zaino leather conditioner. Both does a good job in keeping the leather soft and supple. Does full treatment once every 4-5 months. In between I use Lexol quick cleaner / conditioner. Latest addtion is Leather Master's Leather protection cream. Used once. It's ok. Of all I used, I prefer Zaino because it leaves a nice leather like smell and doesn't stick once dried. BTW, car seats are not repaired either by any professional personal or products.

All door seals, I treat them with Zymol Seal. They stay soft. Dashboard and door panels are treated with Zymol Vinyl.

For engine bay, I frequently dust it off with cotton cloths. Once in 4-5 months I spray engine bay with 'Engine Detailer' sold at Autozone. Not their brand but the other one - forgot the name. It give nice shiny black gloss look. More importantly, it prevents dust/ dirt accumulation. Even if there is one, easy to dust if off.

Hope this helps!.
