98 Lexus ES300 - Rear Suspension Repairs Assistance
Hello All,
Recently noticed vibrating/rattling noises going over bumps, from the rear right. Jacked up the car at the shock was all busted up, so I'm going to need to get it replaced. I'm assuming I should go ahead and get the spring replaced, too, and will be doing the rear right and rear left. I'll have help with the labor, just need some help picking out the parts.
I'm not looking for performance, just an OEM quality ride or maybe a little better. No drop. I'm on a low budget, so I'm trying to spend as little as possible and not end up with junk.
I was originally planning to go with these:
http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/more...768&cc=1316093
But I am hearing mixed information that they are not good. I realize KYB is quality, but I can't seem to find the shock/spring combo anywhere, unless they don't have that? I don't quite understand the gas shock setup, and not sure if I should even go that route, or if I even could.
Hoping to keep the price around $300, if at all possible.
Thanks in advance!

I recently just bought these Monroe quick strut's for my mom's Toyota Corolla all around, and was really impressed with the results, however, we're talking about an older model Corolla vs a ES300. So whether or not it'll be the same case with an ES300 I'm not sure. But it definitely got the old Corolla as close to its original suspension as possible if not completely there.

They're alright. I got 2 years on these, makes it quick for replacement time at the shop.
I did get squeaks and annoying noises in no time with something on the car. not sure if it was the quick struts.
At the end of the day 580$ for four assemblies, i'm not allowed to complain... and quite frankly i've given up trying to solve suspension ****eries on this car, as it's really annoying and tiresome.
