Default 1994 es 300 dyno results

Stupid me never did a baseline run so this is the first one ever.
Cold air intake and the resonator back 2.5 inch pipe and muffler and bosch plat 4 plugs( not really performance ) and synthetic oil. Joke is my tranny slips a bit 2.
ok
stock for a 94 es which has the 1mz-fe engine is
188hp@5200 rpm
203lb-ft torque @4400 rpm

my results
157.49hp@4800 rpm down 400 rpm for peak hp
183.66@ 4100 rpm down 300 rpm for peak torque

a total of 30 hp 16.6% loss
and 21 lb-ft a 10.34% loss

to me these are great numbers
with a 190 000 km engine and a slipping tranny
never mind the drive train loss
real nice part is my power band moved down nicely as well
also did an afr
basically the car ran real nice and lean on idle and got real rich when wot
great for gas mileage and power

Wow, those are good numbers for a 190K km car with a slipping tranny! Your power band moved down quite a bit, reletively speaking. Was there a big drop-off in top-end power vs new? I think a 16.6% hp loss is a *little* high for a FWD car, but your slipping tranny and 190K engine explains that. Overall, sounds really good! Its comforting to know our engines still have plenty of pep, even as they get old.

Wow..

You're putting out more than my 1990 LS.

Nevermind - I was reading your 'stock' specs..

still though, you're close!

Thos platinum plugs could be causing you to lose a 5-10 hp. Bosch plugs are not that great for performance anyways. The best thing you could do is get some ngk copper plugs and use those. That will get some power back, but you gotta change them every 30,000 miles.

But you still got good numbers.

yah the plugs may change a bit not sure about a 5-10 difference
plat are good for longevity( ever tried taking the back plugs out of a es 300 or a 1mzfe engine
