Aftermarket Head Unit Questions
Hi Everyone,
Next weekend I am planning on having Tweeter install an alpine headunit in my car and later some subs etc. in the trunk. As I am new to this car could anyone point out potential problems with this? Will removing the stock unit affect anything on the car (Alarm etc)?
Thanks alot
~Sam

I can't think of any problems to the car. It is your ear drums that concern me.
Hopefully Tweeter will be able to fill the space left by the factory unit so that you don't have gaps. There was a thread by someone that had made a sharp looking wood kit to go around his head unit. You might be able to do the same.
Enjoy.

That would be me.
Yeah just make sure that there is no gap in between the radio and the a/c control. I made a custom trim kit that was made out of real would and it is better cause from what most people tell me the kits for the radios look really bad and are really flimsey. Just make sure that they dotn loose any screws or that anything is loose after you get the car back. Just things that i know happens since i sell and install car audio. Hope it all works out for ya.

1loudlex, when i replaced my headunit, i took out the two top screws that hold down the a/c and radio for easy access to the back of the radio (just in case i needed to plug in wires and etc.)
in order for the headunit to stay in place i used the glue that is used on the headlights (black tar looking stuff). just another option thrown out there.
