Default Headlight Bulbs

Which ones do you use?

I had to replace mine two years ago, so I chose the Sylvania Brightstar Ultras (H7). They were supposed to be much brighter than OEM, according to the marketing, but I couldn't really tell the difference. Well I just noticed that one of my lights burned out again, so I ordered a set of Philips X-Treme Power.

When I still had halogens, I had Phillips. They always seem to last a while, and are quality.

Come to think of it, I'll be updating my D2R's for new Phillips units as I don''t know how old the ones that the headlights came with are.

Hello, I just replaced one headlight because original was too yellow. We used the same computer as original light. When mechanic put in bulb, it burned out. Bought new one, worked for 20 minutes and burned out. What is wrong?

Not sure.

I finally replaced my bulbs and noticed a huge improvement. Highly recommend the Philips X-Treme bulbs. They seem to put more light on the road than the Sylvania bulbs I had before.

I believe you have halogen H7 bulbs, since the HIDs only got added after the refresh. I could be wrong though.

I have MTEC bulbs bought off Amazon. I like the whiter color and they sort of look like HIDs. Some brightness improvement, but make sure you buy the stock wattage (55W) and not the higher watts or you might fry your wires.

I had put the Sylvania SilverStar's in the ES 2 years ago. They too have burned out, 1 a month ago, the other this past weekend. I have the same brand in both of my other vehicles and have had to replace one set, the other I have not primarily because that vehicle sits in the garage most of the time.

For the price of the SS H7's I would think they would have lasted longer. I am going to try a set of the Philips X tremes.

Give them a shot, I'm really impressed by their output. I can actually see my own headlights when I'm driving with other cars around me. I have yet to drive at night in the rain, that would be the ultimate test.

Anyone here run the Wagner series of bulbs?

They look pretty damn cool, and can be had for reasonable money thru RockAuto;

Reason I ask, is that I got a new ct200h in the family and maybe would consider keeping it halogen in this one...

The best halogen lights I had were the ultra bulbs from napa, they were better than the Sylvanias by a bit and much brighter than the stock ones. These napa bulbs were like 50 bucks though
