Question about headlights
Hey everybody. New Lexus owner here.
Got a 2001 ES 300 w/ 138K miles. Great shape.
My only thing is the headlights. Not very powerful. Also some yellowing going on.
What works best, cleaning the ones you got or just getting new headlight enclosures?
Also, can someone recommend a nice bulb that will have a little more oompf to it?
Thanks

I bought new headlights 2 years ago, but one was cracked. After 7 years one was slightly faded and the other was very oxidized. I keep them waxed with pure carnauba wax so they stay crystal clear.
PlastX is a great, inexpensive product to try first, I used it with a rotary buffer to good effect on my fog lights. Do you have a halogen or Xenon equipped car? New, standard halogen bulbs will be inexpensive for you to replace and will boost output, as the output fades over time. Same goes for Xenon bulbs although they cost more to replace.
edit: I highly recommend a rotary buffer, with Meguiars 105 and 205 you could probably revitalize your paint in addition to the headlights.

Coal tryin using hid lights.they are brighter than regular headlights;new kits with the lights are only about $35-$40 on ebay.Dont go know brighter than 5000 thats the regular stock;any higher is against the law and you will be blinding people.
Congrat. On your new es300 bro. I have a GS 300 I use to have a ES 300 I have been buying lexus for about 15yrs; I love them.just keep up with your regular maintenance on your vehicle and you should be good.
