sup everyone. Check this out. Yesterday my dad and i went car shoping. It was kinda of odd but we came upon a 2002 Lexus ES 300. It was used and was kept really well. As I went up too the windsheild to look at the price I saw a weird number lol. Well not weird, but a price. This ES 300 had been driven 40,000miles and the dealer was selling it for $22,000. We negotiated with the price with the dealer and we came to a awesome price $20,000. Well tomorrow my dad and i are going to make up our minds if we want to get it. So what do u guys think? Give me some imput about what yall think
Thanks
Thanks

That's a very very low price. You might want to take the car to a mechanic forst and ask them to see if anything is wrong w/ it or if tehre is any evidence of a previous accident. Also check the carfax, although this is not always reliable.
If the car checks out OK, then by all means buy it! 20K for a 2002 is an incredible deal!

Sounds like a great deal. Ask if the car was ever in an accident and get the reply in writing from the seller AND get a CARFAX. Also, take it for a LONG test drive and check the oil to make sure it's clean. Listen to the engine with the hood up to mke sure it's smooth. I think if everything checks out and you like the color, GET IT!
Also - check out this site for pricing:

Looks like $23K - mainly because of mileage.
GOOD LUCK!

yeah...i didnt mention before i did take it to the lexus dealer to get checked out. All the mantience has been up to par. The reason the price is so low is because it has 40,000 miles on it. The guy that is selling it is a private dealer that bought this car from an auction in atlanta. Knowing him he probably got it for 17k-18k. I dont know, everything seems to check out good.

nabeel - NADA is way off at $31,875. maybe if it had 12k miles on it.
check edmunds.com. the 40k is high miles which knocks the price way down.
you could almost get a NEW 2003 for $32K with enough negotiation!
