Default How many CCA does 92 ES300 require

I'm in need of a new battery, I'm just not happy with what the previous owner has left me with...

How many CCA does the battery need to be rated for for a 92 Windom / ES300?

Is that the main consideration in getting a new battery? other than maintenance free or not and getting the right size posts...

Why wouldn't you get the battery with the highest CCA rating? DieHard batteries usually come in Good, Better, Best or Bronze, Silver, Gold versions.

The reason I wouldn't get say a battery with 1000CCA as opposed to one with around 400CCA is the cost!

I'm not loaded with cash, I only work part time. Ideally I'd just drive the car to a mechanics and say sort it out! (but it don't start at the mo) However I don't know any mechanics that will work for free or on a promise, or who will be drip fed payment after the fact.

So in summary the size of my budget limits what I can afford to purchase, or pay people to do.

Could someone help me? I have a 92 Es w a manual. The car runs great but now whenever I let it idle down it stalls. Clutch starts are fine and as long as I'm on the throttle it stays running...????

You need to clean your idle air control valve, it's attached to the throttle body, from the back. Just unbolt it, and spray throttle body cleaner in it. Make sure to put it back on with a new gasket and you should be good to go.

Why do you need to replace the battery, because you're not happy with it??? If it tests fine why waste money on a new battery?

Usually the factory rating for those including Toyota Camry models 92-current uses 575-582 CCA and the correct sized battery is a 24F.

It runs the electrics but won't start the car. The terminal are also dodgy.

When I hook up my battery tester to the battery I don't even get a reading - not good, medium, bad just nothing. (it's only a cheapo battery tester from the auto parts shop but does the job). I tested it on my friends car and it tells me his battery is good.

So the battery doesn't test fine as it turns out.... It's been replaced along with the terminals car starts fine now. Battery tester says new battery is good. $40 NZD from a wreckers.

Just go to Napa auto parts and get part number 7524F. Best bang and honored warranty you can get at $80!
