Cabin air intake location of 99 ES300?
Got weird odor in car after a repair (replacing VVT solenoid), it smells like coolant or mix of engine oil or something...like dead fish errrrrrrr. I checked and the smell comes from the AC, so I replaced the cabin air filter down the driver side (there was none before, I was only able to put one filter in since I could not find any room for the 2nd filter anyway), but that did not help. Interestingly if I turn the AC to max, then no more odor from AC. It seems it is bad for the 1st few minutes upon every start.
I guess there might be something (liquid drop) near the cabin air intake in the engine bay, since I am pretty sure the smell was not there before the repair. Any idea where shall I look at in the engine bay?
Thanks!

Wash the engine bay, and especially the exhaust.
