I am thinking about adding an intake to my 97 ES3, I have some questions about the sound. I like my car to be silent, and was wondering if there was an intake out there that would not add any sound. I know on my old car the intake upgrade made my car loud as all heck when I juiced the gas. If anyone could help, thanks.

I'm not exactly sure why you want the intake then. What the intake does is remove the restrictions such as the resonator boxes that make the induction noise quieter. By changing to a smooth design of an intake the resonators are removed therefore making the induction noise alot louder than stock. An old trick That I used to use when I get the car is to either remove the resonator boxes or cutholes in the bottom of the airbox in order to get that loud induction noise which most people would not like on their Lexus.
