Default Oil pan sealant question

What sealant and or gasket does the factory use on the oilpan?
My mom's 98 300 has had the drainplug stripped by a shifty oil change place.
Dealer wants $680.00.
I picked up a pan and the paper gasket looks like it may be a problem.
Don't want to do it twice so any help is appreciated.
Thanks

Why can't you just re-tap the drain plug thread? $10 and you are done!!

Not sure if there is enough meat left to tap unless I go to the next size larger on the plug.
