Is300 wheels on ES330
So I got a deal on 4 chrome is300 rims, they are 10 spokes and came on the later models and a lot of sport designs. The tire siZe on there now is 215/45/17, and my 2004 es330 is 215/60/16. Since I need to buy all seasons for the car anyways, I figured id use these wheels as well. I used a tire siE calculator and if I get a 215/55/17 tire it will be almost exactly the same as the 215/60/16. The question I have is will I need a spacer or anything to use these wheels? I imagine they have the same specs as the 5 spokes people put on the 98-01 Es's, but I'm not sure about the 4th gen. ES. Also, do you guys have any suggestions for a certain tire? We have michelines mx4? I think on our 2012 and those are exactly a 216/55/17, but extremely pricey. Any input would be great. I did use the search function but couldn't find anything on is300 wheels on the 4th gen ES.

I had IS300 rims on my Solara with 3mm spacers clearing the struts in the rear.
Previously I had the rims on my Gen 5 Camry, which I'd assume is the same wheel size and suspension setup as the 4ES, no spacers needed.
I loved the look of the IS300 rims, but they were very heavy, significantly impacting braking performance, and warp easily. Be prepared for a stiffer ride on the 17's.
My ES330 rides on stock 215/55/17. I got Michelin MXV4's from TireRack. Very quiet and smooth, but worth it.

I'd also look at 225/55/17. I'm looking at new wheels eventually (check my thread: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/car...e-quality.html) I think if I do buy 17s, I will go 225/55 for a little extra sidewall.
Here's some calculations:
Attachment 498550
According to Michelin 225/55/17 is suitable for 6-8" wide wheels.

So there's been a change of plans, I'm going to use the tires I have from my gs300, 225/55/16 and going to put them on the es330. The gs wheels are really knackered so they will be designated for snow tires and I'm going to buy a set of 225/50/17 for the wheels are use them on the gs. Will a 225/55/16 clear the strut on the Es? Feel like it will I just want to make sure as the regular size is 215/60/16
