Yes, true mechanics will not usually use BlueMax. However, true mechanics also work within the customer's budget and tell them the consequenses. I love the 3VZFE motors in my es300 and Camry. It's been reliable to me and my family. Support our Lexus family and let's root him for that 500,000 mile. I hope mine will last that long. I only have 22,000 miles on my 1992 es300.
How in the hell did you find a 92 with 22k in it? If it was an SC I'd say sure, believable, but ES's ain't garage queens...

Just go on Feebay, at any given time there's 50 Camry XLE engines with low mileage, you can pick em up for less than 1,000 bucks and have a mechanic put it in.
think long and hard if you feel its worth it first... I did a complete restoration of my SC400 and now its relegated to the "beater" of my fleet.
