Hey all
Well, i had an old lady run into my "2 month old new to me" 1996 ES300 in December. Finally settled up with her insurance company and saw a cherry 2000 ES300 at the local Lexus dealer here in Austin. They made me a heck of a deal ($14,999 for a 2000 with 69k in great shape). I feel great about the purchase - the ES is a great car. I'll try to get some pics up soon-

Well, I had been talking to a particular salesman, (with whom i shared the same first name) at the dealership concerning diminished value on my '96 after the accidnet happened thinking it would be repaired. He helped me a lot and got the old lady who hit me's insurance company to come up about 1,500. I was originally looking at a certified 98 ES300 with 59,000 miles they had on the lot listed at 18,900. Prices are notoriously high in Austin. That car sold in the time it took to receive my insurance check so he told me about a "higher mileage" 2000 they had on the lot. I drove it, and it felt like it had 20k on it. It really is in great shape. So, fell in love with the car and offered them 15,000. They were asking 19,999. He called me the next day and said they would do it for 14,999. Beat me by a dollar. I was enthused.
So, i guess the moral of the story is that it never hurts to ask. Be polite, and dont waste peoples time. :-D. I just need to figure out how i can post some pictures.
