EGR valve
Anyone know where the EGR valve is located on a 2001 es300? I would like to clean it. What's involved in removing and cleaning it?
Thanks
Thanks

I do have the label, and it does show an EGR system, but does not give locations.
ALlDATA, to which I subscribe, is of no help in this case either.

Can someone please confrm if the 2001 es300 has an EGR valve or not.
I was planning on cleaning it, as preventive maintenance, but if there isn't one than I guess there is nothing to clean.
Thanks

I looked it up on TIS and couldn't find a single document for the 2001 ES 300 regarding EGR valve. Thats as close as I can say to there being to EGR on your car. I haven't been under the hood of an 01 so I can't say from personal experience or knowledge.

Contrary to my reply, I checked my emission label again and there is no mention of an EGR valve. So no wonder that I can't find one.

The EGR 's job is to reduce NOx. Exhaust gasses mixed in with the fresh air/fuel mixture lowers combustion temperatures. High temps = more NOx. So by the system being able to control the valves, it can simply close the valves early. Leaving behind some exhaust gasses to recirculate.
