New oil control valves are in. Initial test drive showed no hesitation and no check engine light. Hopefully the problem is solved.

 

Man, I wish we would learn if the OCV fixed the issue. Maybe he's still fooling with it.

 

About 500 miles put on since the new OCV's. It's still running perfect. I'd say it's officially fixed. Thanks to all for the help and advice.

 

Thanx for getting back. My issue now seems resolved too. It appears when the rear valve cover gaskets were replaced two ground straps secured by a 12mm were not even hand tight. After tightening them down I've driven about 250 miles with no stuttering. Weird if it did resolve the matter but sloppy of the tech performing the work.
