what to do with my 94' lexus es300
Her name is Lexie. she's my first car i got her april 14th 2014for $800 she has 230,000 miles on her. some minor issues already that were tolerable, but about a month ago i took her to get an oil change. when they lifted her they did an inspection and showed me her rear passenger side subframe was rusting in between the two vertical bolts and it could break at anytime. also shes been leaking oil for a long time. he said it would take 2,000 to fix the subframe and shes not worth it and we should probably sell her. i want other lexus owners opinions.
Minor:
Power steering leak
Speedometer doesnt work til you hit 60mph
drivers side and passengers side doors dont open from the outside
Monitor for heating system is cracked
6 disc changer doesnt work (but did have a aux cable )
Major:
Oil leak
Rusting subframe
besides all these issues shes a great ride.
with everything you know here what would you do with my sweet lexie?

Drive it until it dies....... Adding a quart of oil every week is better than a car payment.
Sadly rust is a deal breaker on a car this old because it costs more to repair than the car is worth and then something else goes wrong.
You can try adding some stop leak to the PS and engine and hope it helps but most of the time these products don't work...... but it is worth a try.

As far as the rear subframe goes, just get a good used one (junkyard or ebay) and swap it out or have it swapped out - it shouldn't be that expensive. The price they're quoting you is probably including the cost of a brand new subframe, if you find a good used one it should be much less. Good luck
