I thought more roll... coz with the cheapo MXV if you go over the limit it would slide but with grippier tires when you try to go over the limit of it... it would grip more thus the more roll... no?

Michelin MXV4's are really not performance tires nor they are "cheapo" as you explain it. It's a premium All Season Tire...NOT a performance tire. It was designed for comfort and low rolling resistance in mind...not auto crossing or canyon carving. If you wan't to reduce your body roll, upgrade your suspension.

I think he said it best. If you really are concerend about body roll, then tires wont cut it. You have to address the suspesion issues.

Just wanted to add that I've got the Kumho 712's in 225/40/18 as well, IMO a bargain at barely over $100 a tire. I don't drive like an autocrosser, but they've never let me down in my mildly crazy driving and emergency avoidance manuever's. I've felt confident in rain as well, they've gone through some heavy rain without any problems, wouldn't try them in snow, but they weren't designed for it either. Sure, you can find better tires, but for me these do the job quite well considering how inexpensive they are.
