nosie in background after new HEADUNIT INSTALLED

Default nosie in background after new HEADUNIT INSTALLED

just got a new Kenwood cd player installed n noticed wen I crack up the car noise comes out of the speaker I turn the radio off the nosie went away. I turn it back on n it comes back. the nosie goes up n down wen I press the gas pedal. can someone help me?

Sounds like a ground issue, either the amp or the unit. You can run a ground wire to the chassis, see if that helps. Also, it could be your wires (RCA maybe). Try different wires and see if it goes away.

Yep^^^^^. Pop that unit back out, and add an extra ground wire to a spot on the chassis with some bare metal. If that doesn't work, go buy a ground loop isolator from any audio store. They are pretty cheap.

Another thing you can check out if you still have noise after a new/better ground is the space between the sound and power wires. If you separate them a little more in your wiring harness (spread them apart), you can all but eliminate it.

We used to have this problem in college when we all installed stereos in our beaters. When you run sound (RCA) and power next to each other, you create interference. This is why professional installers run power down one side of the car and sound down the other, or through the middle.

Sometimes just a new ground and a space between wires solves it. I would try that before you purchase anything else.
