It's different. The plug on the back won't fit.

How do I know? Cross reference pictures of the back of the radio on eBay.

Why not fix the radio? Lights are easy to solder, just time consuming. The LCD can be replaced for around $130.

It'll be 150 when its said and done without a chance of screwing it up. A used one I can get for 50 bucks...plus I want to solder a aux I'm there as well.

Unless they prove that everything is fully functional, those used radios are just as bad as yours. All the good ones I found were always around $200+

Here's a write up on swapping an '00-'01 stereo into a '97-'99 : https://www.clublexus.com/forums/lexus-audio-video-security-and-electronics/361115-installing-a-2001-radio-into-a-1997-es300.html?styleid=15

a seller on ebay will fix it all plus add a external aux for 230 shipped for my radio to be fixed which so far has been the cheapest or i spend 300-350 for a pioneer double din but then i'd have to get metra kit and a rear camera but i'd have what i've always wanted...if i fix my radio it'll still cost me close to 200 no?
